Iqra Raza
Iqra Raza is a PhD candidate in the Department of English at University of Houston. Born in Bihar and raised in Delhi, she obtained a Bachelor's and a master's in English literature from the University of Delhi, before moving to the United States. Her dissertation project interrogates the limits and exclusions of the Human Rights framework, and the discourses through which the 'Human' becomes legible. Her work also looks at how these concerns inflect genres - particularly the novel - across the Anglophone world. She has presented her work at several international conferences including MLA, ACLA, MESA, BCLA, etc. She is also a poet and an aspiring translator. Her work can be found in Language, Literature, and Interdisciplinary Studies; The Thinker (University of Johannesburg); Lapis Lazuli; and Modern Haiku among others.
