Career Highlights
With over 25 years of extensive experience in lodging operations, Cathy has served in various management roles for prominent hospitality brands, including Westin Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, and 1859 Historic Hotels. She has managed hotel operations both nationally and internationally, including roles in California, Texas, Arizona, and China. Her expertise encompasses front office management, housekeeping, revenue management, and food & beverage operations.
In the realm of hospitality technology, Cathy has been instrumental in the implementation and training of POS and PMS systems across domestic and Caribbean properties. She held a consulting role with Cyntergy Corporation, leading projects like I/T systems rollout at Sandy Lane Resort in Barbados and overseeing technology upgrades for Saltgrass Steakhouse in Houston.
As a dedicated educator at the Conrad N. Hilton College since 2013, Cathy has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Hotel Operations, Rooms & Housekeeping Management, Revenue Management, and Advanced Lodging Management. Currently serving as an Instructional Associate Professor, she is also the Faculty Advisor to the Hotel and Lodging Association of Greater Houston – UH Student Chapter and a member of the University’s Admissions Appeal Committee since 2018.
Awards and Recognitions
Cathy has been recognized for her contributions to the hospitality field, including the 2020 Distinguished Faculty/Staff Award at the Hilton College. Additionally, she was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2006 by the Hilton College Alumni Association.
