Aaron Parazette

Associate Professor Parazette came to Houston in 1990 as a Core Fellow of the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In 1994 he was awarded a Mid-American Arts Alliance, NEA Fellowship, and in 2005 he received an Artadia Prize. Reviews of his work have appeared in ArtPapers, Art in America, the Houston Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, the New Art Examiner, and the New York Times.

Parazette has had solo exhibitions at the Texas Gallery, Houston; Mark Moore Gallery, Los Angeles; Angstrom Gallery, Dallas; and Finesilver Gallery, San Antonio. His work has been included in numerous group shows including The Smart Museum of Art, Chicago; The Loggia Gallery, Toronto; Hall Walls, Buffalo, NY; and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. In 2001 Parazette was in a two person show with Ken Price at the Austin Museum of Art, and in group exhibitions at the Eun Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea, and Exit Art, New York. In 2002 he exhibited site-specific wall murals as part of a two person show with Sharon Engelstein at the Contemporary Arts Museum of the University of South Florida in Tampa. Parazette had a solo show at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston in 2004. In 2005 he did a solo exhibition at the Suburban in Chicago, and a Project Space at the ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid. In 2006 he had solo exhibitions at Gregory Lind Gallery in San Francisco, and Marlborough Gallery in New York.
