The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston is home to the Blaffer Art Museum, Dudley Recital Hall, Elgin Street Studios, Jose Quintero Lab Theatre, Lyndall Finley Wortham Theatre, Moores Opera House and Studio 208.

We hope the parking information provided below will help make your visit to campus as smooth as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Important Update: Construction in the UH Arts District
As part of ongoing improvements, the Wilhelmina’s Grove and Loop Road construction projects are currently underway. These projects are designed to enhance accessibility, create inviting green spaces, and improve overall navigation around the UH Arts District.While these changes are exciting, they may impact how you navigate and park near our venues.
We’ve outlined all the essential information below to help you plan your visit:
Project Timelines
· Wilhelmina’s Grove Project: December 9, 2024 – August 15, 2025
· Loop Road Construction: December 16, 2024 – December 31, 2025 (Phased: Moores School of Music area first, Fine Arts/Architecture area second)

Ticketed Events: After 3 PM and Weekends
· Attendant-Parking in Zone B/Lot 16: $10 per vehicle.
- An attendant will be stationed at the Zone B/Lot 16 entrance on Elgin Street with signage to guide visitors.
- Coverage begins 1 hour before the event and ends 30 minutes after the event starts.
· If arriving after the attendant’s departure:
- Park in the Elgin Garage Visitors Area ($10 flat rate after 3 PM or weekends; hourly rates on weekdays).
- Use Text-to-Pay Visitor Parking (16C) in Zone B for $10 (text “21D” to 25023).
Parking for Weekday Events Before 3 PM and Arts District Visitors
For events held before 3 PM on weekdays or for visitors to the UH Arts District, please use one of the following parking options:
1. Elgin Street Garage (Visitor Parking)
- Rates: $10 flat rate after 3 PM or weekends; hourly rates on weekdays
2. Zone B (16C) - Text-to-Pay Parking
- Available for visitors and event attendees.
- Cost: $10 flat rate.
- Instructions:
- Text the code 21D to 25023.
- Click on the link provided in the text message.
- Select the amount of time, enter your license plate, and complete payment.
Game Day Parking
Unless otherwise informed, parking costs for Zone B and Elgin Street Garage are elevated for all event parking on scheduled UH game days. UH Parking Permit Holders for Lot 16C gated areas will retain access but will need to enter and exit via Elgin Street for smoother traffic flow.
Driving Directions (During Construction)
From I-45 South:
- Exit Cullen Blvd.
- Turn right on Cullen Blvd.
- Continue left on Elgin St.
- Zone B/Lot 16 visitor parking entrance is on the right
From I-45 North:
- Exit Elgin-Lockwood-Cullen Blvd.
- Turn left on Elgin St.
- Continue straight on Elgin St.
- Zone B/Lot 16 visitor parking entrance is on the left
