Digital Signage

Organizations on campus may request to advertise events and other information relevant to NSM students on our network of six digital signage displays. Please refer to the guidelines below when submitting an image.

NSM Digital Signage Guidelines

Dimensions - 1920 × 1080 Pixels

Your image should be 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high (like an HDTV) and formatted to use the available space. If your image dimensions are incorrect, you may be asked to supply an updated image.

Image
Use all available space; do not distort your image or expand a letter-/poster-size image to 1920 × 1080 pixels.

File Type - JPG, PDF or PNG

Your image file(s) should be high-quality JPG, PDF, or PNG. While PowerPoint can be a useful layout tool, DO NOT submit a PowerPoint file – please export to JPG, PDF, or PNG.

UH Brand

While Student Orgs are permitted some flexibility, images should be UH brand compliant.

Image Approval & Submission

All digital signage images require approval by Univeristy Marketing. This approval process may take up to 10 days. Your image is automatically submitted for approval when we upload it to our digital signage network. If your image(s) is not approved, you will be notified.

Submit your image(s) at least one week – or more, if appropriate – in advance of your event, keeping in mind the approval timeframe above, to Chris Watts at cwatts@central.uh.edu.

Things to Keep in Mind

Viewing Distance - 15+ Feet

The average viewing distance for our digital signage displays is 15 feet or more. Your images should be readable (and QR codes scannable) from a distance.

Display Time - 15 Seconds

Images are displayed on rotation for 15 seconds each. Like a billboard, details should be limited, and your image should be glanceable. Include org name/logo, event name, date, location, and a brief description. Refer viewers to a website (via QR code or short URL) for more information, such as registration, speaker bio, etc.
