Tickets will be required for guests. Children two years old and younger do not need a ticket. Graduates participating in the ceremony do not need a ticket.

Tickets will be added to graduating students’ UH Student Ticketing Account beginning April 9. Each graduate will receive six (6) electronic, general admission tickets. Tickets are ceremony-specific and may only be used for the ceremony displayed on the ticket.

All commencement tickets are complimentary, and any unused tickets should be returned to the commencement ticket pool. The selling of commencement tickets is not condoned and constitutes a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

Commencement Ticket Lottery is CLOSED

UPDATE ON 4/7/25: All graduates who entered the lottery received an email of results on April 4 to their Cougarnet email provided on the submission form. Please check your spam/junk folder for an email from the "Office of Special Events."

Important Note: All UH students attending commencement must have a ticket specific to each ceremony. A UH Cougar Card alone, without a session-specific ticket, will not grant admission.

Commencement Ticket Giveback Program

Do you not plan on attending commencement? Do you not need all six (6) commencement tickets? Help your fellow graduates and giveback any unused tickets to the ticketing pool! Once you submit your form to give back tickets, they will be removed from your UH Ticketing Account.

Please note, the availability of extra tickets is not guaranteed and depends on the numbers of tickets given back. These tickets will be distributed the week of commencement.

Join the waitlist by emailing gradtickets@uh.edu and providing the following information:

• First and Last Name
• PeopleSoft ID #
• College/Ceremony
• Number of tickets you are requesting

Transferring Tickets

Once your digital graduation tickets are loaded into your online account, you will be able to transfer them to the individuals who want to attend your commencement ceremony.

To transfer tickets, please log in to your account using your @cougarnet.uh.edu email address. You will then have the option to transfer tickets via email or mobile phone number.

Those receiving your tickets will need to create a UH Ticketing Account to receive them.

Creating a UH Ticketing Account: If the recipient does not already have a UH Ticketing Account, they will need to create one to receive tickets. If your guest(s) already have an account, the system will recognize their email address at log in.

Cap & Gown

Graduation candidates will wear regalia (cap and gown) at the ceremony.

Regalia can be ordered online through Saturday, April 12, 2025. Closer to the Commencement date, regalia can be purchased or rented at the UH Campus Store. For regalia questions, contact the UH Campus Store at 713-741-7095 or campusstore@uh.edu.

Graduation Celebration, Thursday, April 10, 10 AM–4 PM, at UH Campus Store

Graduates who ordered regalia during the Grad Fair will be able to pick up their regalia at this event. In-store purchases/rental of regalia can also be completed during the Grad Celebration.

Students with Special Needs

Please contact Tristan Sims at tsims4@uh.edu at least two weeks prior to the ceremony to plan how we can best accommodate your needs on this exciting day.

Diplomas

Diplomas are not given at the commencement ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed out 6–8 weeks after the ceremony. If you do not receive your diploma, call the Office of the University Registrar at 713-743-1010.

Arrival Time for Guests

Doors to Fertitta Center will open one hour prior to the start of Commencement. Tickets are required for entry. Please see clear bag policy listed above. Entrance will be on the Holman Street side across from the Stadium Garage.

Guests with Mobility Needs

• Special seating is available, but limited. Please plan to arrive early.
• For guests with mobility impairments, the doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start of Commencement.
• To accommodate as many mobility-impaired guests as possible, there will be a strict limit of one guest accompanying the mobility-impaired guest in the reserved seating area. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your group.
