STEM Student Interest Group (S-SIG)
STEM Student Interest Group (S-SIG) is a required monthly meeting for STEM PARENT Scholars which will create a learning community for networking, professional development and social activities by:
- placing students in cohorts with peers of similar career/academic interest;
- establishing an academic advising/mentoring platform;
- promoting engagement of scholars in research; and
- providing professional/social networking activities.
Participation in the S-SIG activities will ensure that all scholars benefit from the scholarship program. Continuing scholars will serve as mentors/facilitators/tutors to newcomers for continued engagement in the learning community throughout their academic career.
