Continuing Education

The University of Houston Communication Sciences and Disorders Department is committed to providing lifelong learning opportunities for your professional growth through our diverse range of continuing education courses. All approved courses have met the standards outlined in our mission statement below:

Mission Statement:

In keeping with the department mission and in service to the community, the University of Houston is an ASHA approved continuing education provider and is approved to offer ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for audiologists and speech-language pathologists. Continuing education courses are offered through the UH Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and also in partnership with other organizations.

A Continuing Education Program may emerge from UH faculty, UH Clinical Educators or professionals from outside the university that enter into a Cooperative Partner Agreement with UH COMD. Course development will occur collaboratively with the course proposer and the COMD Continuing Education Administrator (CEA) (see course planning). The CEA is responsible for creating a folder for the course on the protected SharePoint site which includes course planning information, the needs assessment and analysis, information about the course speakers, disclosures, promotional materials, registration of participants, course evaluations and analysis and relevant correspondences.

Continuing education courses may be offered by approved cooperative partners or by members of the UH COMD department. If you are interested in becoming a cooperative partner, please visit Course Provider to learn about the procedures required for approval.

If you have completed a course or will be a participant in a course that offers ASHA CEUs approved by UH COMD, please visit Course Participant to learn about UH policies that apply to course participants.

If you are interested in attending a course that offers ASHA CEUs approved by UH COMD, please visit the Current Course Offerings.
