Dr. Christiane Spitzmueller, professor of psychology, served as the scientific advisor to the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America on their industry-wide safety culture assessment project.

A group of competitors joined together for the project after deciding collaboration was required to ensure employee protection. The project first began in 2010 as an industry-wide safety culture survey, which has resulted in significant worker safety improvements across companies. Further companies are getting involved, and the project will expand to Canada in the near future.
