Discovery Camp interns work with kids ages 5-12 in interactive science camps, museum events, visitors and more. June 9 - August 1st, 8am -3pm, (Training June 2-6th, 1pm-4pm). $2,000 stipend
DeBakey Cell Lab Interns: Six interns will be paired with high school mentees to work with and develop research projects in the DeBakey Cell Lab. June 16 –July 26. A flexible 20 hours per week. Interns will receive a stipend of $750. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2025. APPLY HERE
Building Together: Intersections Across the Arts, Humanities, and Health
The inaugural Medicine & Society Symposium will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Honors College with generous funding from the Prometheus Charitable Trust. This one-day symposium brings together current Medicine & Society students, prospective students, faculty, and alumni to stimulate new learning, recognize student initiatives, foster new connections, create possibilities.
Keynote Speaker is Dr. Ricardo Nuila takes us inside the Harris Health System and Ben Taub Hospital, where he has practiced for more than a decade, detailing the broken system's effects on his patients, and how the public healthcare system might light the path forward. UH Adaptive Athletics: 2025 Cougar OpenWe are excited to announce our upcoming event, the 10th Annual Cougar Open, which will take place in Memorial Park Tennis Center on April 2 - 6, 2025. This is an international wheelchair tennis tournament that provides an incredible opportunity for individuals with disabilities to compete and present their athletic talents. We are currently looking for passionate volunteers in order to make this event a success.

Harris Fellows Program
Harris Fellows offers University of Houston students the opportunity to work as full-time interns with Harris County government offices during the summer semester. Harris Fellows work in a multitude of offices within county government where they serve the residents of the nation’s third largest county, with a diverse population of 4.8 million, larger than that of 26 states. Students will apply what they learned in the classroom and develop skills that can only be taught in a real-world setting. Fellows assist their offices with general duties, including constituent services, research, policy analysis and special projects as assigned. A $6,000 stipend is issued to students selected for the program. Fellows must complete the program requirements to receive the full amount.

Front-End Developer Intern
NOV is seeking a motivated Front-End Developer Intern to join their Corporate Data Science and Analytics Team in Houston, TX. The internship involves developing web applications, designing user interfaces using Python and modern front-end technologies, and integrating components with cloud services and APIs. Applicants should have proficiency in Python (including Plotly, Streamlit, and Plotly Dash), object-oriented programming, and basic knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS and Docker. Experience with Git and front-end frameworks such as React is a plus. The position is open to students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Remote work is available part-time. Data Scientist Intern
The Data Scientist Intern position offers students the opportunity to work with a manufacturing organization in Houston, TX, analyzing various datasets to solve business problems. Interns will assist in cleaning data, developing machine learning models, and collaborating with Senior Data Scientists. The PATH (Providing Advanced Training in Health) Internship Program
The PATH (Providing Advanced Training in Health) internship for UH, UHD, and HCC students seeks to develop the next generation of community nutrition and health programming professionals. The internship will a) teach entry-level skills to develop, deliver and evaluate a healthy lifestyle program and b) provide professional development training for careers in community nutrition and health professions.

Kscholastic Tutoring Company- Hiring In-Person Tutors
Kscholastic is hiring academic tutors! We employ many college students, grad students, PhD candidates, teachers, and beyond for in-person tutoring for students of all ages. While we are hiring for all subjects, we are especially seeking tutors in Physics, Chemistry, Latin, Spanish, and French. Pay starts at $30/hour (or more, based on experience and expertise—could go up to $45/$50+). Tutors only have to work 2-3 days/week (between Sundays and Thursdays- after school/evening hours), and must have a vehicle. Learning Abroad Trip to the Dominican Republic

We will travel to the beautiful beachside community of Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic to better understand the opportunities and challenges that a developing country faces protecting their environmental resources, including beaches, wetlands and coral reefs while ensuring their people have access to good jobs, quality education, and good healthcare. We will work with local partners on service-learning projects to better understand and address these and related issues. APPLY HERE.
EF Global Challenge Honors Semester: Spain & Sweden
Embark on a semester of culturally immersive study in Spain to address some of our world’s most pressing problems—head on. You’ll be challenged to question conventional wisdom, examine (and even disrupt) current systems, and develop innovative solutions for global challenges. Inspired by Alfred Nobel’s belief that “Ideas can change the world,” your studies will be rooted in an EF cornerstone course: Lessons from Nobel: Design Thinking & Leadership for Social Impact. The rest of your courses at the University of Granada and EF’s Study Center in Málaga will include interdisciplinary studies and hone your Spanish language skills. Your experience culminates at the Nobel Week Dialogues in Sweden. Travel Dates: Aug. 28, 2025 – Dec. 21, 2025. The application deadline for the Fall 2025 program is April 1. APPLY HERE

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), offered by OURMA, provides funding for undergraduates to participate in a focused, full-time, 10-week research experience under the direction of UH faculty. Recipients will receive a $4,000 scholarship and three points toward the HCCE transcript designation. Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors graduating after spring/summer 2025. Students of all disciplines with at least a 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply. Students may apply to both HERE and SURF in the same year. Houston Early Research Experience
Offered by OURMA, the Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) is a two-week workshop in May intended to orient first- and second-year students to the fundamentals of conducting research. Guided by faculty mentors, students will discuss academic topics, broaden their professional network, and learn how to ask the right research questions. The 2025 HERE program topic is "Clutch City Sports", focusing on sports industries in Houston. HERE students receive a $1,000 scholarship and two points toward the HCCE transcript designation. Applicants must currently be in their first or second year at UH, or not graduating before spring 2027, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. All majors can apply, and no prior research experience is required. The Advanced Technologies for Hypersonic, Propulsive, Energetic, and Reusable Platforms (HYPER) program at the University of Central Florida is a NSF-REU that cultivates and unites multidisciplinary interests to study advanced structures and systems with application to hypersonics, space, propulsion and energy. Participants in this 10-week program will be guided by a faculty mentor or graduate student in hands-on research, visit aircraft manufacturers, and receive simulation software training. This program offers a $6,000 stipend with housing and travel allowance to and from Orlando, Florida. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, sophomore or junior engineering majors enrolled in a four-year program, and possess a minimum 3.0 GPA. Frontiers in Science REU Program - Summer Research Experience
The Frontiers in Science program is intended to introduce students from all STEM disciplines and academic levels to scholarly pursuits in natural and physical science research. Students selected for the program will participate in cutting-edge scientific research in the field of theoretical biological physics during a 10-week program with the Center for Theoretical Biological Physics. This program is a collaboration between the University of Houston, Rice University, Northeastern University, and the University of Wisconsin. Participants will receive a $5,000 stipend and will be provided transportation and housing if selected to travel to Northeastern University or the University of Wisconsin. Eligible applicants are undergraduate students in STEM disciplines. Program dates run from May 26 - August 1, 2025. Final submission deadline is March 17, 2025 Learn more and APPLY HERE
HOUSTON Academy 2.0
HOUSTON Academy is a 12-month interprofessional training program for undergraduate students who are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in nursing, dental, medicine, public health, psychology, or other health professions. The program provides nutrition education and applied research opportunities. Students are provided up to $1,000 for expenses towards a conference to present their research. Students must be enrolled in a university or community college with a minimum GPA of 2.8. For the year long training, students are provided a $10,000. The Provost's Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS), offered by OURMA, provides funding for undergraduates to participate in a part-time, semester-long research experience under the direction of UH faculty. Recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship and two points toward the Honors in Co-Curricular Engagement transcript designation. Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors graduating in or after fall 2025. Students of all disciplines with at least a 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply. Harris County Historical Society Award for Excellence
The Harris County Historical Society presents the annual award for excellence to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for a public history project focused on Houston or Harris County history. The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2025 semester. The award recipient will be expected to present their project or a summary thereof at the 2024 Harris County Historical Society Dinner. Cancer Metabolism/Chemical Proteomics Research Assistant
Dr. Thomas Hanigan is looking for undergraduate students to conduct research at the intersection of cancer biology, metabolism, and drug discovery. The research focuses on investigating enzymes involved in inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) and their role in cancer, to develop selective, first-in-class inhibitors. Students will gain experience in chemical proteomics, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry techniques. Students should dedicate at least two afternoons per week (preferably consecutive), amounting to at least 10 hours per week in the fall and spring semesters. Additionally, students are expected to continue research during the summer (8 weeks) and are encouraged to apply for PURS/SURF funding. Heart Defects Lab Research Assistant & Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Mingfu Wu from the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences is recruiting a full-time research assistant and a postdoctoral researcher to work on new projects related to the etiology, pathology, and genetic basis of congenital heart defects and cardiomyopathy. The researchers will study the molecular and cellular mechanism involved in cardiac progenitor differentiation, cardiac morphogenesis, and regeneration. The work will be multidisciplinary, combining molecular and cellular biology, microscopy, and developmental biology.
