Presented by the University of Houston, Moores School of Music (MSM), CelloFest Houston returns February 23-25, 2025 and brings together master cellists and young cellists from the Greater Houston area to collaborate in two concerts that celebrate the cello, its music, and the musicians.

You are invited to apply to participate as a member of the Houston Cello Orchestra which will perform as a featured ensemble on CelloFest Houston's Closing Concert.
The event is open to high school, advanced middle school, and college cellists.
You will have the opportunity to perform alongside the CelloFest Houston faculty cellists, Brinton Averil Smith, Eunghee Cho, Anthony Kitai, and Daniel Saenz. The Houston Cello Orchestra will perform works for cello choir, including Giovanni Sollima's Marcia and Eric Whitaker's Sleep.

Houston Cello Orchestra - Application Information
Who can apply: high school, advanced middle school, and college cellists (other Houston-area cellists can email epcho@central.uh.edu to ask about eligibility).
Moores School of Music will be accepting priority applications until December 20, 2024. We encourage cellists to apply early, as we cannot guarantee acceptance after our priority deadline. Our online application will close on Friday, January 10, 2025.
