New Transportation Option from Fort Bend County Being Offered

Fort Bend County and the University of Houston have partnered together to offer a new option for Coogs to commute from the Sugar Land area to campus.

The service costs $4 for a one-way ride. Pickup is at the AMC Theater First Colony Park and Ride, 3301 Town Center Blvd., near First Colony Mall. From there, the Fort Bend Transit bus takes passengers to downtown Houston as part of its existing downtown commuter service route. From downtown, the bus goes to UH, where it drops off passengers at the bus stop in front of the Welcome Center Garage on MLK Boulevard.

In the afternoon, the Fort Bend Transit bus picks up passengers at the same bus stop, then heads downtown before ending at the AMC Theater First Colony Park and Ride.

There currently are three morning routes from AMC to UH:

  • Depart AMC: 6:58 a.m. / Arrive at UH: 8:11 a.m.
