Pharmacy Summer Camp Returns June 12-15
5th Annual Event Offers Career Exploration, Academic Planning, Pharmacist Shadowing, and Hands-on Activities
Now entering its fifth year, UH College of Pharmacy's Pharmacy Summer Camp June 12-15 will provide junior and senior high school students with a "behind-the-counters" look at the diverse career options and practice settings for pharmacists today while interacting with practitioners, current students and faculty members.
In addition to learning more about the pharmacy profession through shadowing experiences and presentations, campers will receive academic planning guidance, meet advisors, tour the Texas Medical Center, and observe live demonstrations and engage in hands-on activities that offer insights into careers as a registered pharmacist.
All activities during the camp will begin and end at the college's new state-of-the-art teaching and research facility Health Building 2, which opened in summer 2017 on the UH campus.
The cost of the camp is $350 per person. Upon acceptance, participants/parents will be notified with further instructions, including insurance requirements and payment remittance. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants each day at no additional cost.
The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.
