UHCOP's 2010-20 Mean NAPLEX First-time Pass Rate Ranks 4th in Nation, 1st in Texas

April 29 — The University of Houston College of Pharmacy's 11-year mean first-time pass rate of 97.9% on the North American Pharmacy Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) ranks fourth in the nation among accredited U.S. peer institutions – and first among Texas peer institutions – according to calculations of NAPLEX results from 2010 to 2020 by the website ClinCALC.com.

Developed and administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), the "NAPLEX measures a candidate’s knowledge of the practice of pharmacy" and "is just one component of the licensure process and is used by the boards of pharmacy as part of their assessment of a candidate’s competence to practice as a pharmacist."

The college’s 2010-2020 mean pass rate is less than 1 percentage point behind the next highest institution and less than 2 percentage points behind the highest institution overall for the same time period.
