Campus Leaders Award
Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists Chapter Earns UH Recognition for 10th Annual Residency Mentoring Social
UH College of Pharmacy's Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists received the Outstanding Program Award for its 10th Annual Residency Mentoring Social at the 2015 UH Campus Leaders Reception on April 22.
Hosted by the UH Center for Student Involvement, the reception is an opportunity for the university community to recognize top student leaders, individuals, organizations and programs.
The Residency Mentoring Social (RMS) brings together pharmacy residents, residency program directors, and clinicians from throughout the Houston area to network and mentor students. This year's social drew 172 attendees, including more than 60 practitioners from the Houston-Galveston area and 20 different residency programs. The social is hosted by the UH SSHP Chapter, with co-sponsored by its sister chapter at Texas Southern University.
"This event is a highlight of our year as it allows students to meet and network with top pharmacy residency programs in the Houston-Galveston area," said 2014-15 Chapter President Meghann Davis. "A special recognition goes to Kaitlin Wasko, incoming UH SSHP President, for her great work and dedication to RMS. We would also like to thank the TSU SSHP Chapter leadership and officers for their collaboration, our UH SSHP officers for their hard work in facilitating the event and our chapter advisors, Dr. Paige Pitman and Dr. Matthew Wanat, for their continued support. The Residency Mentoring Social would not be a success without the joint effort of all of these individuals."
