UH Chapter Wins Regional SNPhA Instagram-a-Thon Award with More Than 200 Posts Showcasing Chapter Members, Activities
Members of the UH Chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) have added another skill set to their repertoire: social media. The chapter's prolific posting -- 237 photos -- captured the Instagram-a-Thon Award at the national organization's combined meeting for Regions 4, 5 and 6 March 13-15 in St. Louis, Mo.
The competition involved each chapter posting pictures from SNPhA meetings, health fairs, service events and socials, with bonus points awarded for photos with the chapter advisor. The images were posted from the students' individual accounts, but the competition rules required specific hashtags to promote the regional meeting. The UH Chapter also posted its own chapter hashtag "#uhinspiredtoserve."
"This is was just a friendly competition between all the chapters within our region to help us get pumped for our regional meeting in St. Louis," said UH Chapter President Tracey Thomas.
The UH Chapter currently has two students serving in national SNPhA positions: Patrick Maranon is National Diabetes Chair and Rene Banzuelo is the Region 4 Facilitator.
