College Congratulates New Alumni, Class of 1965 Golden Cougars at Spring Graduation Convocation
UH College of Pharmacy recognized nearly 130 graduates of the college's Pharm.D., Ph.D. and M.S. degree programs as well as honored members of the Class of 1965 as "Golden Cougars" at the May 14 College Convocation.
Graduating students in the Convocation received their ceremonial hood from faculty members and were presented with their diploma by UHCOP Dean F. Lamar Pritchard, Ph.D., R.Ph.
For the 2014-15 academic year, the college bestowed 12 Ph.D. degrees, 109 Pharm.D. professional program degrees, and eight M.S. degrees. In addition, six members of the college's Class of 1965 celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation were recognized as "Golden Cougars."
"Though you are about to leave these campus environments, rest assured that this tradition signifies one more step toward achieving your goals in life," Pritchard said in his Convocation address.
The convocation also featured a "Student's Response," which was presented by Class President Osagie "Tony" Ohonba.
"Persistence, perseverance, patience and prayer: That's what it took to get here," Ohonba said.
