Pharm.D. Student Produce Inspiring Videos on the Roles and Impact of Pharmacists in College Competition
UH College of Pharmacy Pharm.D. students put their hearts and talent on display this spring to produce seven inspiring videos showcasing the roles and impact of pharmacists as part of the first "Agents of Change: Did You Know?" Video Challenge commissioned by UHCOP Dean F. Lamar Pritchard, Ph.D., R.Ph.
While some video entries were on behalf of a student organization, others were independent productions. The videos were presented at a special "UHCOP Student Film Festival" during the annual Spring Picnic on April 21, followed by the naming of the winner, top two finalists, and audience favorite.
The first place award — and audience favorite — went to FChukwuemezie Emelogu, Gifty Gyebi, OluwaPelumi Wemida, James Holmes, and Jeffrey Ibarguen, with staff member Nekesa Sapp as advisor.
In second place was the entry from Vietnamese American Pharmacy Student Society members Tot Le, Alex Duong, Matthew Trinh, Chelsea Nguyen, Kim Le, Ngan Nguyen, Tuong Le, and Brian Tran, with faculty member Kimberly Nguyen as advisor.
In third place was the video by Joo Hee Kim, Dain Yi, Roel Muniz, Guojun Yu, and Jaimy James.
The other entries, in order as shown below, were produced Jaekyu Lee, Samantha Sangabi, Edwin Ng, Rohan, Dwivedi, and Rodrigo De La Torre; Bryan Githumbi, Adrianna Jurado, Chi Kish, Salima Nathoo, and Lauren Tolat; Christine Vo, Pooja Ojha, Alicia Brazelton, Aimen Naveed, and Jasmine Moreland; and Chai Lin Ryu, Racha Kabbani, Farheen Inayateli, Van Nguyen, Xuan Le, and Joo Hee Kim.
"I would like to commend all of the entrants for their outstanding work on the videos as we continue to raise public awareness about our profession and the many unsung pharmacy heroes working every day across a multitude of practice settings to ensure safe, effective medication use and improved patient health outcomes in the U.S. healthcare system," Pritchard said. "I was also immensely impressed by the high quality production and storytelling talent demonstrated by all of the student teams. The level of creativity, attention to detail and thinking outside of the box provides further evidence of what sets apart UH College of Pharmacy students."
