PHOP Doctoral Program, SAS Institute to Provide Joint Certification for Completing Course Block
UH College of Pharmacy's Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy Doctoral Program has partnered with the SAS Institute Inc. to award a certificate in Health Analytics and Real World Evidence to Ph.D. students who complete a specific set of courses in the PHOP curriculum.
"SAS is among the 'Gold Standard' analytical tools for conducting advanced statistical health outcomes research," said PHOP Department Chair Rajender Aparasu, Ph.D., FAPhA. "Although all of our students are trained on and utilize the SAS software suites extensively in their education and research at the college, this certification will provide an additional level of documented evidence of their knowledge and capabilities of the SAS platform when pursuing employment or internships."
To be eligible for the certificate, students must complete four specific courses — SAS Programming for Healthcare Data, Pharmacoepidemiology, Regression Analysis and Methods, and Risk Adjustment of Health Care Outcomes — totaling 12 semester credit hours in the PHOP Ph.D. curriculum.
