University of Houston Technology Bridge startup, Cyentech Consulting, presented their research program to the UH community in an online event on July 29, 2022.
Cyentech Consulting is a company that provides modeling and data processing services to help its customers better understand the physical properties of the rock and soil found below ground. CEO, Yueqin Huang, introduced the company, their services and their mission.
“We believe that new technologies are changing the industry all the time. Our research team and partners are working together every day to transfer lab research into valuable industrial applications,” Huang said. The company hopes to serve the community with their unique solutions to the problems and concerns in the energy industry.
The main topic of discussion was Huang’s experience attending the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program. The seven-week training course helps scientists and engineers take their work and research outside of a university setting and move toward commercialization.
“Entrepreneurs can learn a lot from attending the I-Corps program. It is also very helpful and useful for The Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer phase II applications,” Huang said.
Closing the event, Huang said that the company is open to collaborating with more UH professors.
“These collaborations could range from funding opportunities for professors, to job opportunities for their students.”
