On November 9, Houston Innovation Map and Houston Exponential hosted the 2022 Houston Innovation Awards Gala, where they announced this year’s awards honoring excellence in Houston’s innovation ecosystem.

Over 150 companies and individuals were evaluated at the event by eight judges. Two UH Technology Bridge startups, Sensytec and Bucha Bio, were among the finalists.

Bucha Bio was a finalist in the Green Impact Business category. The category honors innovative companies that provide solutions within renewables, climate tech, clean energy, alternative materials and more. Bucha Bio develops materials to help eliminate the use of animal leathers and plastics in the fashion, automotive and lifestyle industries.

Sensytec won the Small City Business category. This category honors an innovative company that provides a tech solution within transportation, infrastructure, data, and more. Sensytec is an Internet of Things platform that expedites and enhances concrete construction operations.
