Accommodation Stimulation and Recording Device

The disclosure is a method and a device for electrically stimulating accommodation in humans or in animal models. A purpose designed, non-invasive (requires no surgery) electrode is placed under the eye-lids on the sclera of the eye directly over the ciliary muscle either in the form of a speculum to hold the eyelids open or in the form of a contact lens. The electrode is connected to a stimulator that delivers an electrical current stimulus to stimulate a contraction of the ciliary muscle to produce accommodation.
