Centennial Staff Innovation Award

This award recognizes an individual or a team that has created and implemented an innovative program, practice, product, or partnership that has significantly enhanced the efficiency of a process or system to support and benefit the University of Houston community. We anticipate awarding 100 innovations between now and the centennial celebrations in October 2027.

Award

The winning individual or team will receive a plaque and a $1,000 gift card. For teams, the gift card must be used for a catered celebratory lunch or a UH-hosted team activity.

Eligibility

Any Full-Time Staff at the University of Houston or Teams of Full-Time Staff at UH.

Submission Criteria

  • Nominations must be submitted as a single PDF file on a rolling basis. Unsuccessful nomination maybe re-submitted six months after the previous submission.
  • Each nomination must include:
    • A description of the program, practice, product, or partnership that was created and implemented.
    • The names of the individual or team members involved in concept design, development, and implementation.
    • A summary of how innovation improved efficiency and its impact on the University of Houston community.
    • Supervisor approval for all nominated individuals or teams.
  • Self-nominations are accepted
