High Ionic Conductivity Rechargeable Solid State Batteries with an Organic Electrode

Flammable organic liquid electrolyte is used in lithium-ion batteries, which brings a serious safety concern. It is strongly desired to have all solid-state batteries without using any liquid in the cell. However, high capacity electrode material choices in all-solid-state batteries is limited due to constraints on the compatibility between electrode and electrolyte as well as stability window of electrolyte. This invention describes rechargeable solid-state batteries based on low-cost and high -capacity organic materials
