SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMING DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION
Described here is the systems and methods used for intraoperatively localizing the target structure in a deep brain stimulation surgery. During multiprobe neural recordings as part of standard clinical practice, a high-frequency stimulation is delivered to activate the surrounding tissue at various depths. The site that is associated with maximum resonant evoked activity and a modulation in the high-frequency band is selected for implantation. If not, electrodes are moved to a different location to repeat the procedure.
