Release of radioactive iodine in nuclear industry is a potentially very damaging problem with catastrophic consequences. Our invention captures iodine, and prevents it from crossing the waterorganic interface. This is important in ensuring that radioactive iodine does not damage the ‘nuclear paint‘ used to coat the waste containment vessels and nuclear reactors.
