Innov8 Discovery Lab, where innovation meets opportunity. Our early-stage Incubator program is tailored for UH faculty, students, and staff eager to transform their ideas into market-ready realities. Experience personalized consulting sessions crafted to be agile, with clear deliverables guiding each step of your journey. Discover the optimal path to commercialization and gain access to a network of resources perfectly suited to your project's needs. Join us and incubate your idea with Innov8 Hub Discovery lab.

Eligibility:

  • Idea and interest in commercializing your technology
  • Must be a UH faculty, staff or student

Incubator Program:

  • Graduation requirements: 4 Weeks, 4 Sessions/1 hr each (must attend the sessions)
  • The end goal is to get clarity on whether you want to commercialize and to come up with a solid plan if you decide to proceed.

Milestones:

  • Develop a 3-Month commercialization game plan for your project
  • Develop a Lean Canvas Model for your project

Sessions:

  1. Discovering the innovator (where you are at and what you want and hope for
    • Deliverable: SOW agreement
  2. State of Technology and Funding
    • Deliverable: Powerpoint or photo of a whiteboard session with the coaches
  3. Customized session for your needs
    • Deliverable: Lean Model Canvas
  4. Customized session for your needs and 3 Month Plan submission (if applicable)
    • Deliverable: 3 Month Plan

Outcomes:

  • Awareness and engagement
  • Create a pipeline of projects for other Innov8 and other University of Houston startup programs
  • Clarity (whether to proceed, pivot or shelve) an idea

Format:

Personalized sessions, Hybrid
