The Program in Jewish Studies at Rice University in Houston and the Religious Studies Program at the University of Houston are organizing an international, interdisciplinary, and interdenominational conference in cooperation with the Universität des Saarlandes, Saarbrücken (Germany) and the Universität Rostock (Germany) and in collaboration with the Lanier Theological Library in Houston. A group of selected participants will explore all essential aspects of the concept of religiously motivated covenants in antiquity. The prestigious publisher Mohr Siebeck in Tübingen has agreed to publish the proceedings of this scholarly event.
With the dates November 19–22, 2019, this conference takes place just prior to the Annual Conference of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature in San Diego, CA. It will be hosted in the impressive facilities of the Lanier Theological Library, Houston: https://www.laniertheologicallibrary.org/
At the end of the conference, a Certificate of Attendance can be issued. Please note that we can neither pay honoraria nor reimburse air travels.
