Research

Research at the Hobby School of Public Affairs takes a methodical, scientific approach to answer difficult questions at the center of global and domestic public policy. Teams of experts employ quantitative and qualitative interdisciplinary approaches to provide governments, businesses and nonprofit organizations with solutions developed from evidence-based data analysis.

Hobby School faculty, students and practitioners, partner universities, research institutes and UH colleges from different disciplines make up the inclusive research teams. Whether analyzing international economic indicators, measuring the impact of natural disasters on people and places or forecasting electoral trends, as demonstrated below, our research teams use the strength of collaboration to give an unflinching account of the facts needed to make public policy work for the world.
