  Graduate and Professional Student Mixer and Movie Night

  Wednesday, October 2, 2024 UH Graduate School and Humana Institute co-host an evening of networking and a screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary Heroin(e). The evening will include a panel discussion and exploration of the opioid pandemic. Free food and refreshments will be provided. Register by September 18, 2024 to join as attendance is limited to the first 50 registrants.

  S.P.A.R.K. - Strategic Pursuit of Advancing Research Knowledge

  This Fall 2024, Humana Institute introduces an Interpofessional Grand Rounds Series - S.P.A.R.K. It will initiate a new charge of interprofessional collaboration among researchers across UH Colleges, energize growth and development in clinical research and ignite innovation to address complex health-related challenges.   2024 Health Policy Conference

  May 17, Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine and Humana Institute welcomed guests to the 2024 Health Policy Conference. We hosted experts from academia and industry to deliberate on the ramifications of consolidation and private equity acquisitions in health care amidst the transition towards population health and value-based care.

  Humana Institute researcher, Ben King, Ph.D., M.P.H. has recently concluded his second annual Homeless Mortality Report (HMR) in Harris County. King’s HMR gathers data from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences which is then analyzed by an interdisciplinary team of University of Houston, UT Austin and UT Houston students.
