Elbow wall thickness reduction and mass reduction caused by erosion can be detected by percussion method. Tapping elbow on different erosion rate, and signals are collected with a smart phone record app. Collected sound signals are pre-processed and trained through KNN and RNN which are two main algorithm of machine learning. With this method the erosion rate on different level can be detected with 90% above accuracy.
