Research:
The primary focus of my research is vascular pathobiology. Specifically, we are studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, restenosis, hypertension, and arterial stiffness associated with obesity, aging, or chronic kidney disease. We use different physiological, biochemical and molecular approaches including gene knockout, surgical intervention, adenoviral gene delivery. Current research topics include epigenetic regulation, lipid biology, redox signaling, vascular inflammation, cell senescence, progenitor cell differentiation and recruitment.
